The Recreation is the ski that started Simply. Intuitive and adaptive, it's for people who want to have fun — whoever you are, whatever the conditions. It feels playful and surfy wherever you point it: quick slashes on the edge of the piste, big clean carves, ground tricks, side hits, a lap in the park, a run in fresh snow.

It's also light and touring-friendly, so the playground doesn't stop where the lifts do. Once you're on it, you'll want to try new things. That's the point.

Inspired by board sports. Put the two skis together and they look like a snowboard. The line down the middle is a tribute to surfboards. And then there's the fish tail: invented on surfboards a few decades ago, picked up by the very first snowboards. It isn't just a look — it's what makes the ski so manoeuvrable in fresh snow. You push less snow with the back of the ski, so you turn faster and the ski becomes much more playful.

Thirty-five prototypes went into this ski. A tip and tail that stay playful, a flex that grips and carves hard, a waist that scales with the length (96 to 102 mm) so every size rides the same way. Full black, no need for fancy branding. You'll know it when you see it.

Why you'll love it

A new experience

Born from our endless search for good times. Beyond competition, beyond pure performance: enjoyment for everybody, on any terrain. The Recreation is the tool to inspire your ride — with a signature touch no other ski in the world offers.

To a creative ride

An invitation to any kind of terrain. The only limit is your mindset. From ground tricks to side hits, from long curves to quick slashes — it flows.

Unrestricted playground

Lightweight and touring compatible. The fish tail is shaped so your skins clip on without fuss. New playgrounds, respectfully.

How it's built.

Everything below is made in Verbier, from 100% European materials, with 100% renewable energy. Here is what's inside.

Next Core©

High-density beech stringers set in a lightweight poplar core. Light where it should be, strong where it counts. This award-winning technology is exclusive to Simply. It's the master key to the skis' signature feeling on snow: a light ski that stays stable and has an impressive pop.

Layup

Triaxial fibreglass, pre-impregnated for a cleaner, more consistent build, bonded with 35% bio-sourced resin.

Base & edges

Sintered PE-UHWD base (Isosport 7500): one of the highest grades for ski bases. Full black for the best performance and easy repairs.

2 mm steel edges — thicker than usual — so your ski tech can sharpen them for years. 20% of the edge steel comes from recycled materials. Factory tune: 0.5° base, 88° side.

Nose, sidewalls, tail

ABS nose and full ABS sidewalls for impact resistance. The fish tail is also reinforced on both tips: you can leave your skis standing anywhere.

Topsheet

Graphics printed directly under the topsheet, solvent-free. A transparent gradient line lets the wood show through — and the design doesn't change every season.

NFC tag

Under the mounting point there's an NFC tag. Hold your phone to the center of the ski: serial number, production data and more.

Sometimes size matters.

There's no perfect formula. It comes down to your style, what you ride and how you ride it. Here's where we'd start, based on height and weight:

Length Rider height Rider weight
160 150 – 165 cm 41 – 68 kg
170 160 – 175 cm 47 – 77 kg
180 170 – 185 cm 54 – 86 kg
190 180 cm and up 80 kg and up

Good questions.

What can I ride with the Recreation?

Everything you get the chance to. Groomers, pow, touring, side hits, park. That's exactly what it was designed for.

Can I ride switch with a fish tail?

You can — and you should. It works perfectly on the piste and in the park.

Can I use it for touring?

Yes. It's solid, stable and light. Any touring binding fits, and the fish tail is shaped to take skins.

Should I worry about the fish tail breaking?

No. Both tips of the tail are reinforced. Lean your skis wherever you like.

Where should the bindings go?

On the mark. The optimal mounting position is printed on the ski, and it's the only one we officially recommend. Our ski techs use it too.

At your own risk, you can have your tech mount the binding 0.5 to 1 cm in front of the mark. Ask them to make sure the screws stay well inside the reinforcement plate.
