The factory.

Simply. skis are built by First Track, a new-generation ski factory that started out specialised in ski research and development. Since 2022, First Track has been building a factory that aims to be the first fully connected, 4.0 ski factory in the world.

First Track has been Simply.'s partner from day one — the design office where the skis were drawn, the workshop where the prototypes were pressed, and to this day the factory that produces every Simply. ski.

Pressing, finishing, quality control, mounting: everything takes place in the same building, by the same people. Less than a kilometre from the Verbier lifts — which happen to be the ultimate testing area.

Design

A ski starts as a program: the terrain, the mood, the feel we're after. Then a shape, a rocker line and a graphic design.

Prototype

The workshop can turn out two new prototypes a day. Ride it on the mountain across the road, come back, adjust the core by a tenth of a millimetre, press again. The Recreation took 35 prototypes. The Carver seven. The Celebration ten.

Build

Beech and poplar core, triaxial prepreg fibreglass, bio-sourced resin, birch binding plate, ABS sidewalls, sintered base, 2 mm steel edges — every material carefully cut or carved, then pressed together.

Finish & check

Every ski goes through more than twenty control points before it gets its NFC tag and serial number.

Mount & ship

If you ordered a binding, the same ski techs drill on the mark, mount and set it to your details. Then it ships. Three to five working days, door to door.

Reasonable production.

Thanks to First Track's reactivity and proximity, Simply. skis can be produced in near real time, following actual demand. That means no overproduction and no overstock. We call it reasonable production: fewer unneeded units, and therefore no incentive to push overconsumption — heavy discounts, cheap products flooding the market.

100% European materials.

Since January 2024, everything that goes into a Simply. comes from Europe. The last step was replacing the Asian bamboo stringers of the Next Core© with European beech — validated with EPFL in Lausanne and a winter of on-snow testing. Shorter transport, full traceability, European standards along the whole chain.

Powered by water.

The factory runs on 100% renewable electricity, 93% of it hydro. Wood offcuts heat the building. Production waste is separated so it can actually be recycled. Combined with the bio-sourced and recycled materials we use, that makes one of the cleanest ski productions in Europe — with a carbon footprint up to five times lower than some of our competitors.

Choosing our battles.

Making skis isn't sustainable by nature. We don't pretend otherwise. So we picked the things we can actually change: seasonless design and reasonable production against over-consumption, products built to last, regional sourcing to cut transport, materials we can trace, waste we can recycle. The list isn't perfect and probably never will be. Small steps now beat perfect plans later.

Made here. Fixed here.

A ski built in Verbier can be repaired in Verbier. Warranty, service and tuning are handled at the workshop, by the people who built it. It also means we hear directly from the riders who use the skis — and keep improving them to make them last longer.
